The Manchester United defender has emerged as a target of the two London clubs
Arsenal and Tottenham are targeting Manchester United defender Eric Bailly,
Bailly is said to be frustrated with life at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho, and could be tempted to leave Manchester in January.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of Bailly and keen to land him in the January transfer window.
It remains to be seen if United are willing to sell the defender to one of their main rivals.
But Bailly has become increasingly disillusioned with life at United under Jose Mourinho.
He could look to push for a move, but United will look to recoup all of the £30m he cost them from Villarreal in 2016.
Bailly appeared to have established himself as Mourinho’s main centre-back in his first season at Old Trafford.
But he has started just five games this season, having found himself frozen out towards the end of the last campaign.
He was hauled off before half time of last weekend’s 3-2 win over Newcastle when Mourinho sent on Juan Mata.
United finished the game with a makeshift defence and Bailly fears he can’t see a long term future for him at Old Trafford while Mourinho remains in charge.
Bailly, who is said to be a model professional who still loves the club, would like to know where he stands.
The Gunners are aware of the situation and are keeping close tabs on what happens; with boss Unai Emery knowing Bailly well from their time working as rivals in La Liga.
But the Gunners might be put off by the price tag, allowing Pochettino to steal a march and lure him to Spurs instead.
Mourinho is keen to strengthen his defence in January – and could even use Bailly as bait in the hope of luring Toby Alderweireld in the opposite direction.
