Nigeria international Leon Balogun set the second fastest goal by a substitute in the EPL. The goal was his first goal for his club Brighton & Hove Albion as they won the match by 3-1.
Balogun created the record as he finds the net just 25 seconds he came into the match. He came in to cover up for Shane Duffy who was given the matching order.
But the fastest goal by a substitute was scored by Nicklas Bendtner for Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspurs on December 2007.
The Arsenal match was looking like a draw when Bendtner came to light up the stadium. In just about 6 seconds he created the record of the fastest goal by a substitute in the EPL buy heading the ball from a cross into the net.
But the effort of the Nigerian international will be written down in the books as his goal takes second place in the records.
However, Balogun made a mistake in the match that caused them to concede a penalty, he fouled the electrifying Wilfried Zaha.
Then, Luka Milivojevic stepped in and converted the spot kick for Crystal Palace.
Despite being a man down Brighton held their ground and took all three point from the match.
They would now travel to Burnley for their next match on Saturday.
