Doyin Okupe detained by EFCC

A former aide to immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan Doyin Okupe has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The People’s Democratic party, PDP through his National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan made it known through a tweet on his tweeter handle.

According to him, it is an assault and harassment of PDP members.

Kola tweeted, “Media Adviser to the Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, @doyinokupe detained by the EFCC

“It is a season of assault, harassment and intimidation for the members of PDP. Details shortly.”

The EFCC has been on Okupe since June 2016 were, they say that he was reported to the commission over allegations bordering on illicit payments received from the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki as well as receiving unusual payments given to his to his companies by a Local Government council in Bauchi state.

Reports had it that Okupe’s home was stormed by the Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday but he told them that he would honour their invitation to come to their office Monday, December 10 which he did and since then have been detained.
