2019 election: Buhari’s minister, Shittu say that there won’t be peace in APC

The Minister of Communication, Mr Adebayo Shittu has declared that he would not work for the interest of the APC instead he would work against it during the election in Oyo state come 2019.

On a media chat in Abuja on Wednesday, 12 December 2018, the Minister stated how and why he would work against his party. The reason for his action was that Adams Oshiomhole the National chairman of the party and Abiola Ajimobi the Governor of the state prevented them to contest the Governorship elections in 2019.

Earlier, Shittu lost the APC Guber ticket during the primaries to Mr Adebayo Adelabu as he was disqualified by the party on grounds that he did not hold the NYSC certificate.

However, the party formed a reconciliation panel to resolve the crisis. Shittu ignored the panel and declared that “without restitution, there won’t be peace in the APC.”

He also said: “As for me I don’t recognize the candidate of APC, I am in court and I am sure that I would triumph over those who were not as intelligent in foisting a candidate on the party.

“With all sense of humility, I have passed the stage where any party would threaten me. I am in court and if the party is sure that it has a better basis for what they have done, I let us go and meet in court. You don’t start threatening I who feel unfairly treated thinking you can get me out of the justice system.”
